Paul Pogba |
Having spent around 150 million and owning a dangerous forward line up, anything short of acquiring a champions league spot would result to failure for van Gaal. The much-needed winger Angel Di Maria wasn't at his best at the Old Trafford regime, neither the Colombian forward, Radamel Falcao, who is surviving on loan. But still the board and ardent fans around the world have retained adequate support for the Dutchman to prove himself in the upcoming seasons. Hence, van Gaal's intentions look threatening in the transfer window starting with his plans to lure in Paul Pogba, from Juventus.
Manchester United has been linked with Pogba for the past two seasons. Also, United would be keen to strengthen its mid-field, which has been a matter of concern for seasons. Their links with Wesley Sneijder, Kevin Strootman says it all. Such an attractive midfielder like Pogba, might even be accustomed to play the role of an attacking midfielder; surely when need arises.
Recent reports suggest that United had launched a 60 million for the Frenchman. The other contenders to notch him are Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Arsenal. A tough battle on the cards.
With quite a dangerous line-up, United will be reluctant to sell their in-form goal stopper De Gea, but would attempt to grab Gareth Bale; though highly impossible. Pogba, the former United player, who was released by the Red Devils and are regretting that decision more than anything.
Juventus director Pavel Nedved was quoted in Le Parisien newspaper on Saturday as saying that PSG had submitted a bid but the French club's director of sport, Olivier Letang, denied the same.
Paul Pogba has been emerging as a top summer target in the football world despite extending his career with the Italian side, as he would be likely sold to the top contender.
It's a renowned fact that Manchester United had already progressed talks with Hummels, Borussia Dortmund defender and this bid eventually boosts up the spice. Also, United's key targets include Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese star was allegedly reported to have been to a restaurant with Sir Alex Ferguson after last week's Schalke game and his former boss had spewed out talks convincing him to return to Old Trafford.
Let's have a glimpse at the future Manchester United line-up if things go as planned!
Deadly, deadly United!
