A total of 67 players were sold out of 349 names called out in the auction. 24 foreigners and 43 Indians were purchased with Delhi Daredevils breaking the bank for Yuvraj Singh. 34 uncapped players were bought with K.C.Cariappa bagging a huge bid of 2.4 Crores.
Chennai Super Kings
Delhi Daredevils
Having released as many as 13 players ahead of the auction, Delhi were forced to pick a fresh side. Yuvraj Singh reclaimed his status as the highest paid player in the competition. One could predict that Angelo Mathews, Zaheer Khan and Amit Mishra will form the first choice playing XI.
Albie Morkel and Shreyas Iyer are expected to lend support.
Kings XI Punjab
Kolkata Knight Riders
Mumbai Indians
Aaron Finch is the best pick for the Mumbai Indians and the price they have paid for the Australian opener is really small considering the ability of the player. They have re-signed Pragyan Ojha. Aiden Blizzard can be a handy backup option, but the reason behind the purchase of Mitchell McClenaghan is a big question the authority should answer with Lasith Malinga occupying the pace bowler's slot and Josh Hazlewood waiting in the wings along with Marchant de Lange.
Other than this, Abhimanyu Mithun is the new addition to the bowling department as well as Akshay Wakhare. The purchase of four young Indian all-rounders increases the squad depth, but it is a big doubt that they will be given any chances.
Rajasthan Royals
Known as one among the clever buyers in the auction table, Royals signed the South African pair of Christopher Morris and Juan Theron. We have to wait and see how well they will be utilized in the side.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
The purchase of Dinesh Karthik will reduce the responsibility of other top-order batsmen but the amount spent on him is huge. But the Challengers can relax about the fact that they have signed the player for a lesser price than his price-tag of last season. Darren Sammy's addition will increase the strength in the middle order, but, can the Challengers rely on him? One can't guarantee anything.
Sean Abbott and Adam Milne will give competition to Mitchell Starc while Subramaniam Badrinath will help the batting order. The priced talent Sarfaraz Naushad Khan may be given chances but the odds are very low considering the fully equipped batting order.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
The Hyderabad franchise are clearly the winners of this year’s auction adding plenty of firepower to the batting department. Releasing Finch, as the Australian was deemed surplus to the requirements, SRH added Kevin Pietersen, Kane Williamson, Eoin Morgan and Ravi Bopara. They have also pocketed the New Zealand’s left-arm speedster Trent Boult and the India’s swing specialist Praveen Kumar.
One has to agree that the side looks really strong with the new requirements.

As a side that still retains the core of its players, the Super Kings were not really in need of any particular player. Having said that, they added two crucial players in Michael Hussey and Irfan Pathan.
Perhaps, Dwayne Smith’s drop in form towards the later stages of 2014 coupled with the franchise’s love for the Australian resulted in Hussey returning to the Chennai side. Irfan might not play every game but is still a worthy addition. Kyle Abbott might be seen as the replacement for Ben Hilfenhaus.

Murali Vijay’s inclusion will give the team more stability at the top of the order and will the youngster Manan Vohra some breathing space. The youngster is yet to learn to pace his innings and the in-form Indian opener adds steel to the already strong batting line-up.

The Gautam Gambhir led side added another all-rounder to their ranks in James Neesham. However, the center of attraction was the 20-year-old Bangalore off-spinner K.C. Cariappa.
With an impressive season in the Karnataka Premier League under his belt, the mystery off-spinner went for a massive 2.4 Crores. However, the youngster might not play at all with Sunil Narine, Piyush Chawla, Shakib Al Hasan, Kuldeep Yadav and the latest acquisition Brad Hogg are ahead of him in the pecking order. Aditya Garhwal might well be the surprise package.
