The IPL8 player auction is being held in Bangalore and these following picks were the best among all - both financially and strategically.

Kane Williamson - ₹60,00,000 - Sunrisers Hyderabad

It is a STEAL. It is really shocking to learn that the talented, in-form batsman failed to attract bidders. The Sunrisers should be thinking that they've won a jackpot by capturing the Kiwi in the morning session of the auction. 

A solid technique, blessed with all shots in the book, Williamson is one hell of a buy this season.

Aaron Finch - ₹3,20,00,000 - Mumbai Indians

One of the best buys in 2015: 3.20 Crores is really a small amount for a player like Finch. After the release of Dwayne Smith, MI struggled a bit with the opener's slot and Finch can fulfill that duty with ease. Also, he is more reliable than the West Indian Lendl Simmons.

Kevin Pietersen - ₹2,00,00,000 - Sunrisers Hyderabad

Having released by Delhi Daredevils after a disappointing last season, Pietersen moves to Sunrisers Hyderabad. The right-hander is one of the world's most sought after T20 players and can single-handedly power his side to any challenging totals. Despite in his 30s, and in the twilight of his career, the South African-born is still one of the best in the business.

Eoin Morgan - ₹1,50,00,000 - Sunrisers Hyderabad

England's ODI captain was pocketed for the base price of 1.5 Crores. Considering the low-key middle order of Sunrisers in previous seasons, their intention to strengthen the area was well visible. However, none expected the left-hander to go under the hammer for such a low amount as his abilities with the bat are well known.  

The 29-year-old last played for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2013. 

Subramaniam Badrinath - ₹30,00,000 - Royal Challengers Bangalore

The Chennai native right-hander was picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore at his base price. Throughout last season, RCB have struggled with their lower order batting even though they had a strong top order. 

Considering the 34-year-old's ability to absorb pressure and hold fort, he can play a very supportive roll to the batting powerhouses in Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli. This man can also protect the middle order falling down cheaply if the first four fail to fire.
