Chennai ungalai anbudan varaverkirathu - Classic

The story behind the film is the plot of this film. A work that has a thing to be called a story, a strong one too and an impactful narration.

This is not that type of story that starts somewhere and ends somewhere. This is not the one that has some gravity defying stunts, not the one to have some unbearable mixture of words in the name of punch dialogues and definitely not the one that sells through muted-smile comedy portions.

For a change it will make you feel for the character's misery, you will really do. For clarification, there is not a person to be called a lead in this. One can say that no one has registered the life of a group of bachelors striving to make a living in Chennai with more detail.

Simha (Chellapandi) and friends striving to get into the cine industry, struggle for daily life. Problems follow then through misbehaving friends, forcing him to flee rooms time and again. Linga (Karthik) and Prabanjeyan play friends. Saranya (Vinodhini) gives a much appreciable act, paired opposite Linga, a womanizer.

A highly volatile mixture of reality, emotions, love and affection. You would see around five different kind of persons and each have their own busy problems in life. The issues that come across and the solutions given for each character are top class. By the time this movie ends you would feel that you have seen a real life in the picture, not a reel.

"After Nayakan this is the film which completely floored me'' - when a legend like Bharathiraja says this imagine the output.

And all of this comes from a debutant filmmaker and possibly a new team of technicians too.

You hardly remember their technical team and can hardly find any information on internet. Another instance that proves only advertisement sells!

The first part is better than the second, in other words, slows down a bit and involves more sentimental drama. Music by Camlin and Raja is so appealing and goes by what the script demands instead of adjusting to the trend of unnecessary rise in decibel levels. Vinoth Rathnasamy's lenses bring you the clear picture and KN Kiran is the editor.

For those who dream to be involved in the industry, for those who cheat in their relationship, this will leave a strong message.

There are films that you want to remember, there are some other you wonder why it was even made and there are some that strike you on the head and leave you speechless for the most of its course. This belongs to the last kind. This is not a family entertainer and could never really satisfy action addicts. The climax ends all of a sudden and one gets a feel of leaving a meal with a half-filled stomach.

Reviews on the internet might question the need to introduce the fourth and fifth storylines in this already complex script. To some extent, arguably, yes, but the director's motive to register the reality should be appreciated. If one can really get into the script the diversion does not affect the course that much and it deserves every bit of credit it got. As mentioned earlier, there is no one to call a lead, and if you search for one, you will be disappointed.
