It is an epic battle
between the two of the best clubs of Europe. Real Madrid: I don’t have enough
words to explain their pride. La Decima is enough I think and on the other hand, the English giants Manchester United. The Ultimate successors of English football
and in this modern era they are really the BEST not only in winning titles but
also in providing platform to young talents to grow and improve.
Both teams are very
equal in all categories. Yes, Real Madrid can only overstep their counter parts in European competitions. Let’s forget the European successes of the Spanish giants at least
for a while. Both teams have a great fan base, they have financial power, they
have wonderful history to back, and they have excellent players who represented
the clubs in the past, in present and in the future as well.
Why are they battling?
A childish question, it
must be. Why are they fighting? They are fighting for the world’s best player. No
wonder in that if you look at the clubs. They always want to be the best. Real Madrid doesn’t want to miss their
super hero as they look to make another history with the player. But why
Manchester United needs Cristiano Ronaldo? They need the best to product their Honor
by winning back the Premier title.
Is the battle worth it?
More childish from me! Isn’t
it? The records set by the Portuguese will kick the doubters away. At present,
he has 13 goals from just 6 appearances in La Liga. I hope this is enough
because if I start to list his achievements then I will need to write a book. Hence, it’s obvious that the player has a demand.
So, without more add-ons
and distractions, let’s get into our topic. Which place is better for the World’s
best? Let’s start with his current team.
REAL MADRID
More words won’t be
required to explain the role of Cristiano Ronaldo at the Bernabeu since there is
not a single role allotted to him in the squad. Head coach Carlo Ancelotti
explained the same and the player himself agreed by saying “I can play in every
position where we think I can make damage”. Thus, the amount of freedom the player has is
boundless.
MANCHESTER UNITED
The English giants can’t
offer the same freedom the player has in Spain but they can offer him
something that no one else in the world can: Peace, satisfaction and hearty
support. The Real Madrid crowd always wants their players to win every day which
gives more pressure to the squad. Even though the United fans expect the same,
they differ in the approach. If a player fails in a game, United fans don’t boo
at least. Since the player himself considers Manchester as his HOME and Old
Trafford as his FAMILY, it is easy for him to make a switch.
But, where he can
perform better and improve better? The question stands still. The whole world
knows Cristiano Ronaldo wants to improve season by season and he wants to win
more and more games and trophies.
My answer would be REAL
MADRID and I state you the reasons:
1. Everyone knows
Cristiano Ronaldo is a goal scoring machine. But the missing word in that
statement is REAL MADRID. He earned that status only with Real
Madrid. No doubts on that. He doesn’t want to lose that pride easily.
2. The adaptation is a
big task for football players. We have seen many players waste their careers
only because of their inability to adapt to new situations. The Premier League is the toughest to adapt and the England atmosphere is not easier as well. Yes, Ronaldo is not new to
England. But, the forward is not a teenager anymore and is now a grown man. The player is
29-years-old and he will reach 30 shortly. Understandably, the reliability factor is
decreasing.
3. The role he will be
given at United is not going to satisfy his thirst for goals. You cannot expect
players like Rademel Falcao and Robin Van Persie to play a second fiddle. They also
want more opportunities and Cristiano Ronaldo will only play in a role where he
can only score less goals. That is not going to attract the world’s best. This is
not the same United team that he left when he joined the Spanish giants.
4. Angel Di’Maria;
Please don’t see him as a good friend of Ronaldo anymore. Because now he is the
No.7 at Manchester United which means he is not going to play the same role
that he played when the players were together in Madrid. He is the best player
right now for the Red Devils and no player will step down from his spot to give
the pride to another one WILLINGLY. So, Ronaldo cannot afford many mistakes at
Manchester United because they won’t hesitate to drop him.
5. Another one big
obstacle for Ronaldo on his way to Old Trafford will be the new manager Louis
Van Gaal. He is not the great Sir Alex Ferguson to offer the role that the star
wants. He has reasons for that; the manager has his head at debt because of the
expectations of his authority. The playing style and the desires of the manager
is very clearly visible that he is not much interested in bringing the player
back, it is only the authority and the fans who wants their former match winner
back.
6. More than everything
the player will consider the fans, after all he is playing for them. Manchester
United fans can give him a family but they cannot make him the MOST COMPLETE
PLAYER. But the Real Madrid crowd can and they have done that. Cristiano
Ronaldo is the BEST ATHLETE the game has ever seen. You cannot neglect the support
from the fans as they are supporting him and urging him to score more and more.
One of the reasons why Ronaldo is evolving and improving year by year is the
fans.
7. By the way do not forget
the Champions League. A player like Ronaldo doesn’t want to miss the biggest
stage.
I have to agree the
fact that Ronaldo has a burning fire to move back to Old Trafford in his heart.
But I seek things practically. No one in this world will want to lose their
grade without a strong reason and the sentimental reasons are not valid enough
in REALITY, at least in FOOTBALL.
Hence, I conclude REAL
MADRID is the best place for Cristiano Ronaldo to achieve further honors.
