The best thing about time is it brings you new games, new
winners and new memories every week and we bring you the results and positions
of the teams across Europe. Here we go with this week’s report starting from England.
Premier league
Chelsea retain their top spot with a convincing 3-0 win against
Aston Villa. Liverpool were denied the full three points by a late stunning
Phil Jagielka equalizer. Manchester City and Manchester United had tough games,
but they emerged winners with 4-2 and 2-1 wins against Hull city and West Ham
United respectively.
Southampton are holding on to their 2nd place with 13 points;
3 short of the leaders Chelsea. Arsenal kept their 4th place temporarily
through goal difference.
La Liga
In Spain, Barcelona at the top with 16 points from 6 matches
followed by Valencia (14 points), Atletico Madrid (14 points) and Sevilla (13
points). The points Barcelona and Atletico Madrid lost in the midweek allowed
Real Madrid to close down the gap to 4 & 2 points respectively and are at 5th.
Bundesliga
The derby clash between Borussia Dortmund and Schalke ended
as the later won the game by 2-1 which left BVB at 12th place. No one might
have predicted this to the magnificent BVB. Bayern Munich is with a comfortable
5 points lead at the top which indicates the single horse race is on.
Serie A
Italy is a tough place to play football. But not for
Juventus and Roma, as they are battling for the crown without much troubles.
Juventus edges past Roma to top the table only by the help of goal difference. (Both
on 15 points)
Meanwhile, Sampdoria and Udinese were at 3rd and 4th place
with 11 and 9 points respectively.
Ligue 1
As I said last week, the most competitive league by far this
season is the French League. The defending champions and the clear favorites,
the mammoth Paris Saint-Germain are at 4th only by goal difference. The first
three teams are Olympique Marceille (19 points), Bordeaux (17 points), and
Lille (15 points).
The real problem comes from the teams that sit at place 5, 6,
7 and 8 who are having a little gap of one or two or behind by goal difference.
They can anytime pull down the teams at top. So the title race at France is
going to be a big one and the battle will be nastier for the Champions League spot
if this fight continuous with the same momentum.
This is all we have from this week. Stay tuned with us for the
upcoming BATTLES.
