Vemal is back, this time with Samuthrakani in a police story. For clarifications, Vemal is not a cop, but someone who take risks for money with the influence of his head constable father. Most of the hero's recent outings have not been that great and this just adds to that list.
Storyline
A sincere cop and his mission to encounter a hitman is made difficult because of the interruption of the lead.Cast & Crew
Apart from some portions where the scenes were strongly able to get the audience into the seriousness of the Police job and its hardships, the rest of the plot isn't much impressive. Vemal (Anbu) has got nothing to blame, but he needs to be more choosy on scripts.
Geetha (Amutha), who has formerly produced a handful of films including Arya's Arinthum Ariyamalum, Pattiyal and Parthiban's Kundakka Mandakka plays Vemal's love interest. She looks beautiful and acts 'okay'.
Samuthrakani: He has made it a practice to do roles that fight for justice. What else to expect when he dons the Police uniform? GV Prakash Kumar is the major let down along with the screenplay. There could have been a better characterization for M.S.Basker and Imman Annachi - as corrupt policemen who wish to see their sons get out of a problem.
The title card with the voice of Gautam Vasudev Menon narrating the incidents of death in the state added value, but once the film's pace and screenplay fell down, it never came up. Deva (Karna) as the contract killer looks rough tough. The idea to make a note of the sacrifices made by policemen should be appreciated, but the end product is short on quality.
A guessable plot, more than a few logic misses and misplaced songs. More care to the scripting could have made it a better watch.
Bottomline
Not so a great outing if you are looking for a great watch on the weekend.
Marks: 5/10
