Pakistan off-spinning all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has been called for suspected illegal bowling action for the second time in the past one year, reports ESPNcricinfo. The player now faces a possible one-year ban if his action was proved illegal in the testing.
As per ICC regulations, if a player fails the test on his bowling action after being reported for the second time in a span of one year, the bowler can only apply for reassessment at the expiry of a ban period of one year.
Notably, Hafeez was reported in November for suspect action and test results suspended him from bowling. He cleared the testing in Chennai on April.
Bowlers should undergo testing within the next 21 days of reporting.
