Yes, users can now access Facebook messenger without a Facebook account providing your phone number. The social network giants are very concerned about making Messenger a standalone platform and the move is expected to bring in more users for the app.
Now, when users launch the application, they will be able to see "not on Facebook?" option. Such non-Facebook users can sign up for Messenger with their name, phone number and a profile picture.
