Run-time: 2 hours and 35 minutes
CBFC Rating: U
With all those multiple title changes and a delay in the release Massu/Masi/Masss/whatever wins over the audience far too easily. As Venkat Prabhu hoped he has banished most of his cliches if not entirely.
Expectedly, its a comedy-horror subject but thankfully the screenplay has lived up to the billing.
Storyline
A rogue in pursuit of money invites a big trouble that leads to an accident. Fortunately, he survives and gets a special power to see and communicate with spirits. Vengeance story in the second half.
Cast and Crew
Kudos to editor K.L.Praveen and Visual Effects Artist Kotamraju Karthik. A quality work from both of them. Madan Karky's dialogues were good and suits Venkat Prabhu's style of narration.
Surya shines big and enacts both the roles - (Mass/Sakthi) equally good. The camera of RD Rajasekhar has given an uplift to the scenes and gives an engaging, neat vision. The segments where Surya realises the death of a character and gets to know the reason why he was being chased by the ghosts were captured well. To make a film that has to carry a 'mass' image, every department of the film should have to travel around a thin line that separates reality and heroism. This film has exactly done that.
Yuvan Shankar Raja proves himself yet again and one can safely say that he is nearing his peak. Nayanthara has very little to do, just like every other Venkat Prabhu heroine. Pranitha Subash as the second heroine, Parthiban as a Policeman, Samuthrakani as Villain along with Subbu Panchu, Jayaprakash all have their part in this movie and have done it well.
Premgi Amaren, Karunas, Sriman and 'Nan Kadavul' Rajendran takes care of the comedy portion with some excellence.
Even the director agrees that the narration has settled at a comparatively low pace to the first half but is still engaging.
It requires a one line story for Venkat Prabhu and he knows exactly where to tie that up with another. This time that one line story will most probably be a lovable one to all movie goers including children.

Bottomline
As always, a movie that guarantees entertainment from Venkat Prabhu - the sixer is out of here.
Marks - 7.5/10
