Bengal batsman Manoj Tiwary's is one of the unlucky bunch of cricketers not to get enough chances in the international arena before being sidelined to the domestic circuit. At 29, with a few years of cricket left in him, the right-hand batsman feels his chances to win a Team India berth didn't materialize with his IPL side Delhi Daredevils not providing enough games.
"Not many chances came my way playing for the Delhi Daredevils' (DD) in the IPL. How do you expect me to be selected for the national squad?" the player was quoted as saying by NDTV.
"The only thing I can do is keep on performing, utilize the A tours to the limit and hopefully get a chance in the 2016 T20 World Cup," he added.
In the recently concluded IPL season, the cricketer only batted twice out of the five matches he was picked - both against his former franchise Kolkata Knight Riders. He made 32 and 25 while he was not required to face a ball in his only other outing.
Tiwary has an ODI century to his name in 9 innings and 3 T20I caps for India.
