England bound Kevin Pietersen pulls out of IPL contract with Sunrisers Hyderabad

Kevin Pietersen
Given a lifeline to play for England again, now in exile, Kevin Pietersen has obtained permission from his IPL side to miss the upcoming season to ply his trade on the county circuit.

With the new ECB head Colin Graves indicating that he would consider Pietersen for international selection if the player commits to county cricket, Pietersen will be announcing today that he has pulled out of the T20 competition.

Most probably, he will get a contract with Surrey within the next 48 hours and will be available for all three formats for the county side.

Notably, England Test captain Alastair Cook earlier stated that the South African's chances of a comeback is "highly unlikely".

Sunrisers obtained Pietersen in the IPL 8 auction for a sum of ₹2,00,00,000.
