Sarath Kumar dons double role yet again, this time in a cop story, directed by A.Venkatesh.
Plot
With Sarath Kumar himself playing both the Hero (Surya) and Villain (Sarveswaran), that too as a cop and a baddie, one can easily guess where this is going to end.
Samuthrakani should stop doing this type of roles considering his reputation and value. As a Police inspector, on a mission to arrest the bad guy, the character was killed at the mark of interval after some cat and mouse games.
There is no direct connection between the good and the bad Sarath Kumars up to that point. To take revenge for his friend's death, the undercover cop Sarath Kumar, assembles a team and starts surveillance operation.
As always the villain's main motive is to make money and is ready to sell a new variety of bomb to foreigners. The bomb has a new explosive, a new fuel, and a slightly unexpected carrier.
The second part has answers to whether the hero will be successful in executing the planned encounter on the villain and stop his deal with foreigners that might see the bombing of several cities in the country.
Cast & Crew
Radha Ravi and Kadhal Dhandapani are Sarveswaran's reliable men. Thambi Ramaiah, Imaan Annachi and Vincent Asokan are the others with considerable screen presence.
Music by James Vasanthan is moderate. Meera Nandan paired opposite the hero was beautiful on the screen. Oviya, as a female cop working under Sarath Kumar, has minimal scope for performance. The story lags in pace and predictable plot only makes it more average.
The story, again by Sarath Kumar himself, was not that very great in the first place and nothing spectacular to praise about the screenplay. N. S. Uthayakumar is the cameraman and V.T.Vijayan is the editor.
Bottomline
If one is really trying hard to kill time and is okay with watching the patterned, repeated way of story telling for dual roles you can watch this one.
Marks - 5/10
