The 11-time FA cup champions Manchester United face the
fourth tier team Cambridge United at the Abbey Stadium in the fourth round of
the competition.
Even though the fixture looks very easy for Manchester
United, their recent form and unexpected downfall alarms us of a possible collapse.
The two managers are very mush cautious about this fixture
particularly the Red Devils’ coach Louis van Gaal who respects his opponents and
fears that his opponents may harm his team easily through their set pieces. He has also pointed out that Cambridge have five, six players who are above 190cm (6ft 3in). And he urges his players to defend without flaw which is the
biggest concern for the manager throughout this season.
On the other hand, the host team manager Richard Money has asked
for a full fan support as he believes their belief could give his
team the strength to make an upset against the favorite visitors.
Injury Status
Louis van Gaal has a fully fit squad except Ashley Young who
remain sidelined because of hamstring injury.
Head to Head
The two teams have met only once before in the League Cup
fixtures where the Red Devils emerged winners on a 4-1 aggregate score.
The host reached the fifth round of the competition only
once before in the 1999-2000 season.
