Team India limited overs international cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has retained his place in the Forbes list of World's highest-paid atheletes as the only Indian and cricketer. While the debate on whether Dhoni has left behind enough legacy in the longer format still going strong, Forbes has referred to him as the cricket-legend. 

"He led India to the semifinal round of the 2015 Cricket World Cup before suffering a loss to eventual champion Australia, and in May the Chennai Super Kings went to the IPL Finals for the sixth time in his eight years as team captain," Forbes said.

Dhoni's endorsements have fetched him 27 million USD while the wicket-keeper batsman has accumulated 4 million USD as salary/winnings, taking his tally to 31 million USD.

Floyd Mayweather tops the list; Cristiano Ronaldo third


Boxing champions Floyd Mayweather continues to dominate the list with a recod 300 million USD as total earning. Manny Pacquiao who lost the May 2nd fight to Mayweather sits second with 160 million USD. 

Both boxers have comfortably beaten Tiger Woods' 115 million USD (2008) which stood as a record till now. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi take the third and fourth spots with 79.6 million USD and 73.8 million USD, respectively.

Roger Federer at No.5 is the only Tennis player in the Top 10. Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova, one of only two women on the list is placed 26th ahead of Serena Williams at 47. 

Basketball player LeBron James (6th), tennis World No.1 Novak Djokovic (13th), Formula One racers Lewis Hamilton (15th) and Sebastian Vettel (21st), Spain's Rafael Nadal (22nd), Manchester United's Wayne Rooney (34th) and Usain Bolt (73rd) are the other prominant names on the list.
