Bhagat Singh – The most beloved and the very proud son of mother India was born on this day in 1907 at Chak No. 105, GB, Banga village, Jaranwala Tehsil in the Lyallpur district of the Punjab Province of British India to Kishan Singh and Vidyavati.
He had a very high level of patriotism that only a rare number of people could have had, in his teenage days he was more interested in serving for his beloved mother rather than serving his family. In his college days, he spent his time in identifying the problems in Punjab, his native, and won awards for his essays on the problems in Punjab.
Bhagat Singh founded the Indian nationalist youth organisation “Naujawan Bharat Sabha” (Youth Society of India) in March 1926 when he was just a 19-year-old. He also joined the Hindustan Republican Association, which had prominent leaders, such as Ram Prasad Bismil, Chandrashekhar Azad and Ashfaq Ullah Khan. The name of the organisation was changed to Hindustan Socialist Republican Association at Singh's insistence.
Being a firm believer of revolution rather than the non-violence conducts of Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh involved himself in more revolutionary activities and left his house to avoid his parents' social and family wishes.
The revolution taught by Bhagat Singh made more youngsters to involve in the cause all over from India. This fire earned the British’ attention and they planned to execute the revolutionaries under their law as they would have never supported the revolutionaries, we could easily imagine.
Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were sentenced to death in the Lahore conspiracy case and ordered to be hanged on 24 March 1931. The schedule was moved forward by 11 hours and he was hanged on 23 March 1931 at 7:30 pm in Lahore jail with his comrades Rajguru and Sukhdev. The execution caused more conspiracy since the three men were executed before their sentence time. But the lack of support for revolutionaries from higher authority freedom fighters rubbed off the injustice.
He could not see the free India, the free India have never seen him alive, but he will never be forgotten by this country and this great land will ever sing his name with pride. He will remain as one of India's greatest forever.
