Soon after the popular noodles brand Maggi was banned, Swiss-based food processing giant Nestle is facing the heat again as live worms were found inside a pack of Cerelac, the baby food, reports Vikatan.
"We checked again and found that the product expires only in February 2016," Sriram, an IT professional who bought the infected pack told the Times of India.

"The worms look like weevils, which commonly infest wheat. These worms have a way of penetrating into the wheat grain and laying an egg inside it and leaving. When the wheat is crushed, the eggs hatch," he said.
Apology from Nestle
After a "pathetic response" from the toll free complaint number, Sriram then took the issue to the concerned authorities and soon received an apology from the company.
"A company official called me and apologised for what happened to me with their product. He gave a new packet and said the company would also take the issue forward by testing the samples," Sriram was quoted as saying by the New Indian Express.
As per latest reports, Nestle India is investigating the incident which first came into the limelight on the 16th. The customer found worms inside the product on the 15th evening.
"We are aware that a consumer in Coimbatore has reported insects in a pack of our Cerelac Stage 3, infant cereal. The quality and safety of our products are non-negotiable priorities for our company and we always take such reports seriously," a Nestle India spokesperson told Press Trust of India.
