With Komban, Karthi once again takes the village 'Sandiyar' role and Lakshmi Menon plays the female lead. Rajkiran, Kovai Sarala, Karunas and a number of known faces can be seen in the film who made the viewers feel the story.
Karthi(Kombaya Pandian) is a kind of man who is keen on serving his village people and he often invites trouble with his angry attitude. But this angry man also has a good heart which attracts Rajkiran(Muthiah), father of Lakshmi Menon(Palani).
The pair gets married, but Karthi shows no respects to his father-in-law. Due to his social service activities, he bought the vengeance of villain. After a period of time, Karthi disrespects Rajkiran and it affects his marriage life.
Thereafter, Karthi is staying away from his usual works but the villain is waiting for his chance to pounce back on the hero.
The full movie is a mixture of action and sentimental drama. Thambi Ramaiah's presence seems like an added utility which may not be needed. Karunas is under utilized. Literally, the movie takes us to the situation and the screenplay makes us feel the proudness that the characters have. A typical rough-and-tough hero and village rivalries.
Karthi once again proved his acting skills, is a perfect fit for the character and Lakshmi Menon is quite comfortable with her family role. Stunt master Super Subbarayan as villain Gundan Ramasamy is not a bad choice.
GV Prakash Kumar is the biggest positive for the movie alongside Karthi, especially with the background score. Velraj is the cinematographer and K.L.Praveen is the editor.
If you want to spend some good time with your family on a movie then 'Komban' might be the perfect fit this weekend. If you are someone who can't digest a logicless action, you can give it a skip.
