The round 16 of Champions League came to end and 8 teams have progressed to the quarterfinals. The teams qualified are now eyeing the quarter final draw scheduled to be held on Friday. As per the performances by players and their contribution to their team, we assembled the best XI. And the line-up is,

The Germany international was simply superb for his side and he named himself in the score sheet as well in the second leg against Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Austrian fullback played an all-round display for his side that humiliated Shakhtar Donetsk in the second leg.

The versatile attacker provided everything that required and is the main man behind his side’s success.

The young Spaniard won the player of the match award in the second leg against Bayer Leverkusen. In the right place at the right time to slot home the goal that his side so desperately needed. Always on hand to protect the defense as well and buried his penalty.

The young Brazilian impressed the world throughout this season and played a key role in both legs for his side.

Cristiano Ronaldo

The Portuguese produced two vital header goals in the second leg, even though he cannot buy his side a win his goals booked a quarter-final place for the defending European Champions.

Carlos Tevez

The Argentine scored goals in both the legs and his link up with his fellow teammates made him a constant threat.

Lionel Messi

The best player for Barcelona and a nightmare for Manchester City in both legs, whenever he got the ball on his feet the City defenders were torn apart.
