Openers - Lahiru Thirimanne & Tillakaratne Dilshan

Sri Lanka stand-in skipper Thirimanne took first strike in the last three ODIs in New Zealand after witnessing repeated failures of specialist opener Dimuth Karunaratne. The Islanders are likely to continue with the same combination as the left-hander, together with Dilshan posted three successive 50+ partnerships at the top of the order.

Middle order - Kumar Sangakkara (wk),  Mahela Jayawardene

The pillars of strength are automatic choices at 3 and 4.

All-rounders - Angelo Mathews (c), Thisara Perera, Jeevan Mendis

Unless or otherwise Mathews' calf injury that sidelined him from the last three matches keeps him away, he will resume his role as the captain of the side.

Considering the number of matches Mendis played in NZ, in Sri Lanka's lead up to World Cup, he will surely make the squad at the expense of a third specialist seamer.

Bowlers - Nuwan Kulasekara, Lasith Malinga, Sachithra Senanayake, Rangana Herath

Haing openly admitted that Malinga is a risk worth taking, the slinger will partner Kulasekara in the bowling line up. Having considered as a specialist limited-overs spinner Senanayake might get the nod as the first choice spinner. Sri Lanka will still pick Herath as they already have Mathews and Perera to add value to the pace bowling department.

Reserves - Dhammika Prasad, Dimuth Karunaratne, Suranga Lakmal, Dinesh Chandimal.
