The in-form openers for Cricket Australia and they will lead the team's batting line-up without any doubts. The two will surely give a tough day for any bowler.
Middle order - George Bailey, Michael Clarke (c), Steven Smith, Brad Haddin (wk)
The middle order looks very solid and strong, but the injuries of Shane Watson and Michael Clarke are concerns. But with the likes of Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell as reserves, the home side can manage pretty well as the duo is more than capable for the job.
All-rounders - Shane Watson, James Faulkner
The two double role players are also fighting injuries and it was confirmed that Faulkner will miss the first game against England. Hence, either Mitchell Marsh or Glenn Maxwell will start.
Bowlers - Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc, Xavier Doherty
The Mitchell duo will lead the bowling department and Faulkner, Watson will accompany them in the attack. Xavier Doherty will play in the first team ahead of Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins since he is the only specialist spinner.
They might prefer an out-and-out pace attack if the team management feels Maxwell can fill in the spinner's quota.
