Kaththi breaks box office record; fans break Twitter record

Vijay starrer Kaththi enters the high profile 100 Crore club. The A.R.Murugadoss' film is only the third Tamil movie to reach the magic number. The movie was released on Diwali (Oct 22nd) world wide with high expectations and received positive reviews.

On its opening day the movie collected 23.8 Crore at the box office worldwide. Now the movie crossed 100 Crore in just 12 days to be the fastest Tamil film to reach such honors. Notably, this is the second Vijay film to enter into the 100 Crore club after Thupakki. Samantha Ruth Prabhu played the female lead and Neil Nitin Mukeh debuted in the villain role.

Meanwhile, the Kaththi team and other celebrities share their happiness via twitter using the tagline
#Kaththihitsfastest100cr created by fans. Interestingly, the hashtag also set the new record for the fastest 100 K tweets in cinema.

Fans are still making it trend and the hastag is fast approaching the 200 K mark having already crossed the South Indian record for any tag in Twitter.
