A total of 334 Indians were rescued from the strife-torn Yemen and were brought to the Mumbai airport in two Indian Air Force planes on Saturday.
46 Tamil people are in the group who were welcomed by Tamilnadu Government officials at the airport. Later they were sent to Tamilnadu by two private flights.
Most of the people are from Madurai and Ramanathapuram and the state government has arranged for their respective natives.
BBC quotes a UN special adviser as saying Yemen is on the edge of a civil war.
Pakistan and China are among countries to have rushed their resources to rescue their nationals. It was earlier reported that around 4000 Indians are left stranded in the Arab country.
Another reports confirm that the number of Indians to reach home is 1022 overall, including the 330 who reached Kochi on the early hours of Saturday.
