Rain predicted for India v Bangladesh clash |
Team India is bowling like never before and has cruised along to the quarter finals of the 11th edition of Cricket World Cup. India reaching the quarter finals is nothing but expected, winning six out of six was not so extraordinary but winning them majorly with the help of bowling was.
Barring the huge win against South Africa, India, being a superior team compared to other sides in the pool, was expected to come out victorious. The point to be noted is India bowling the opposition out on all 6 occasions. Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Mohit Sharma take most of the praise (for the flak they mostly get). Positive signs, indeed.
Officially confirmed quarterfinal fixtures as on 14th March, 2015. |
With the quarterfinal scheduled against Bangladesh, most of the fans have started considering this as a win for India. But Bangladesh is no walkovers, especially after their performance against two swing bowlers of New Zealand, in the form of their life and also against James Anderson & co. Perhaps not of Indian bowlers experience, still, lead by their captain Mashrafe Mortaza, young Taskin Ahmed and Rubel Hossain have won Bangladesh few games in the past. 140+ kph fast bowlers succeeding for Bangladesh is of some surprise for a country which produces umpteen left-hand spinners. Just a friendly reminder: Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hassan are in some form.
Speaking of Bangladesh's perspective, it is no easy task, even near impossible, to defeat India which seems to have no signs of weakness as Sean Williams pointed out in pre-match interview.
However, it is important not to get carried away. Zimbabwe has surely given a bit of a warning, what to expect as the tournament nears the climax.
There is a new worry Bangladesh have to look after - Rain!
