Pakistan's tall left-arm seamer Mohammed Irfan will take no further part in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2015 with a pelvic stress fracture.
Scan reports on Tuesday confirmed the seriousness of the injury, as team physiotherapist Brad Robinson revealed the news in Adelaide.
"This injury rules Irfan out of the World Cup," Robinson said. It has to be seen whether Pakistan will fly in a replacement for the injured quick.
The bowler missed Pakistan's last league game against Ireland with Ehsan Adil replacing him in the XI. The Asian side is drafted to play Australia in the quarter-final on Friday at Adelaide.
