After an impressive debut, Aishwarya Dhanush has given a decent output in her second attempt at film making if not disappointing.
The length of the movie is just under the 2-hour mark and is surely a positive as one would have imagined. Gautham Karthik (Karthik) is introduced as the one with the ability to predict the future. Priya Anand (Priya) is his love interest.
Vivek (Pandiyan (a) Panda) is Gautham's office colleague and he tries to utilize his special powers in betting to win more money. Our hero consents to help him as he himself is also in need of money for his sister's marriage.
Daniel Balaji as the betting agent is very apt to be honest and it is puzzling to see why he is underused in the industry.
The screenplay tries to skip all the routine love track and family sentiments quickly and is somewhat successful. At one point, Daniel Balaji after initially refusing to accept the hero's powers wants to use them for himself to win more cash.
When he refuses, he plots him into the web from where he has no choice but to help him. When things get a bit complicated, he makes Daniel Balaji fall for a trap and flies back home.
The climax is joyful as the likable Kokki Kumaru makes a comeback on screen. The movie ends with an open plot with a possible sequel on the cards with Dhanush and Gautham.
No complaints against Gautham Karthik - this guy can act and is well utilized. Priya Anand is as good as always. Taapsee is extremely beautiful and the cameo appearance works pretty well in an important role.
Vivek evokes laughter most of the time apart from the part with M.S.Basker. Manobala - Vivek combination proves to be successful yet again. Editing plays a crucial role - VT Vijayan deserves praise. Cinematography of Velraj is good too.
SJ Suryah's appearance in a song is perhaps unnecessary. Director Vasanth makes his acting debut as Gowtham's father as Gayathri Raguram makes her return as his sister. Yuvan Shankar Raja hasn't disappointed with the background score and has lived up to the requirement. Songs were not up to the mark though.
A watchable entertainer with some enjoyable moments here and there. Has no real weight in script but the screenplay may or may not be engaging. If you are a die hard fan of our Kokki Kumaru, you can give it a shot for sure.
Marks: 5.5/10
