Respect to Tamil is respect to India: MP Tarun Vijay


Member of Parliament Tarun Vijay, a firm believer in Tamil culture and literature has announced that a statue of Thiruvalluvar will be installed in the state of Uttarakhand on the banks of River Ganga, reports Dinakaran

The MP after getting blessing at Chidambaram Natrajan Temple on Friday said that Tamil is the oldest language and the one with a rich tradition. He also added that respecting Tamil is respecting the nation. 

He mentioned that Thiruvalluvar and Subramanya Bharathiyar's fame should be taken to all parts of India and added that he will be distributing 10 Lakh pocket-size Thirukkural books to students and a Thirukkural recitation competition will be conducted in the summer vacation.

Vijay also announced that 133 selected students will be honored in the Parliament, New Delhi. The BJP MP mentioned that studying Tamil kings like Raja Raja Chola and Tamil literates will only complete India's history.

An initiative of Tarun Vijay - Students and Youth for Thiruvalluvar (SYT), the organization that already has 1 Lakh+ student members in the state will conduct the Thirukkural competition.
