Sunil Narine |
Kolkata Knight Riders spinner Sunil Narine has been reported for suspected illegal bowling action for certain deliveries during the rain-hit match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Vishakapatnam this past Wednesday.
Indian Premier League's official site stated BCCI's secretary Anurag Thakur as saying: "As per the provisions of the IPL Suspected Illegal Bowling Action Policy, Mr Narine will still be eligible to bowl in forthcoming Pepsi IPL matches and may request a biomechanical analysis of the deliveries in question at the ICC and BCCI accredited testing facility, the Sri Ramachandra Arthroscopy and Sports Science Centre (SRASSC) in Chennai."
Notably, the bowler was cleared to bowl in the tournament after being suspended from bowling in the Champions League T20 2014, after being reported twice in the tournament. The Caribbean spinner went through the testing process and got a green signal from the board in addition to ICC's test report that enabled him to resume bowling.
Another factor to consider is that the tweaker himself pulled out of the ICC World Cup 2015 to work on his modified bowling action.
Narine, in the 5 matches he has played so far this season has only two wickets to show for, at a poor average of 73.50 runs per dismissal, going at an economy of 7.35.
