Yuvraj Singh

Despite not making any significant impact in the IPL so far, Yuvraj Singh will come good in the later stages of the competition, feels Delhi Daredevils captain JP Duminy.

"It is easy to criticize him. He has not had great opportunities in the matches we have done well and I think he will be the first to admit that he would have loved to contribute, but it is not because of one guy's performance that we are losing," Duminy said after his side went down to Royal Challengers Bangalore by a huge margin of 10 wickets.

"He is a massive player for us and I have all the confidence that he is going to come good for us in the later parts of the tournament," he added.

Carrying the 'expensive player' tag, the left-hander aggregates only a meager 124 runs in seven innings at 17.71 per dismissal.

Zaheer close to 100% fitness

The Protean also mentioned that senior pacer Zaheer Khan is close to gaining match fitness and is eager to take the field.

"I think he (Zaheer) is about 95 percent fit to be honest. My thinking is, he will be up for selection for the game on the first. His progress has been good, he has been very determined to come back and represent Delhi," said Duminy.

With three wins from seven matches, Delhi are placed 5th in the points table.
