Earthquake death toll: 3200 in Nepal; 66 in India




3,218 people were confirmed dead in Nepal, falling prey to the 7.9 magnitude earthquake and its aftermath, reports the Hindu. 

Unfortunately, the toll is expected to rise as the rescue team is finding it difficult to reach victims of the quake. 

Reports also inform that Indian Air Force has evacuated 1,935 nationalities from the neighbour nation. 

A team of senior officials from Ministries of Home, Defence, External Affairs and NDMA has left for Nepal to coordinate the relief measures and evacuation mission. 


66 dead in India



66 Indians lost their lives in heavy tremors experienced in various parts of the country. The incident has left around 288 people injured, a senior Home Ministry official told the newspaper. The state of Bihar saw the worst casualty.
