11 Indians who required an emergency exit from the strife-torn Yemen were safely rescued by Pakistan Naval Ship PNS Aslat.
Al-Qaeda took control of almost entire strife-torn Yemen's southeastern city of Mokallah, from where 148 Pakistani citizens were rescued by their national army. On their way, the army men rescued 35 non-Pakistani people including 11 Indians.
The Pakistan's foreign office released a statement informing that they have rescued some Chinese as well as a few British nationalities.
The mission was a tough one especially after the roads leading to the evacuation point was closed.
"Therefore, through a discreetly planned exercise, the operation was switched to nearby Ash Shihr port and 148 Pakistanis have been safely evacuated, earlier today".
"35 other foreign nationals also requiring emergency evacuation are on board. These include 8 Chinese, 11 Indians and 4 British citizens. The ship will arrive in Karachi on April 7," the statement reported.
The Mokallah city of southeastern Yemen is under the control of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), after they released around 300 of their mates by breaking the jail.
