Football week update for all major leagues in Europe

A big busy week as well as a thrilling one. A lot of shocking and stumbling events to report and I am very much pleased to do that. Let us get started with English Premier League:

EPL:

There are no shortages of slips in England as this week has numbers. Liverpool suffered a goalless draw against Hull City after Manchester City were overtaken by West Ham United. Tottenham Hotspur let Newcastle United take advantage who emerged winners.

The big match between Manchester United and Chelsea went on to a dramatic finish as Robin Van Persie’s late equalizer denied Chelsea from pocketing all three points. Arsenal and Southampton are the teams who didn’t lose any points.

Still, Chelsea remains in the top with 23 points from a possible 27 and are chased by Southampton (19 points). Manchester city sits in the third position just one point ahead of the fourth placed West ham United.

La Liga:

El Clasico! This week’s La Liga is all about this very big event which has a historic rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Real Madrid managed to win this edition’s first meeting with their fierce rivals with a score card of 3-1. The Clasico clearly showcased the superiority of Real Madrid and the weaknesses of Barcelona and the result has no complaints to discuss.

The sad thing about the league is most of the fans failed to notice that Sevilla sits second top, only behind Barcelona by goal difference. Real Madrid are at third who are one point less than the top two. Valencia managed a place in the top 4 with 20 points and also have just one point gap with Real Madrid.

Bundesliga:

As a surprise the single horse of German race, Bayern Munich stumbled to a goalless draw against an impressive Borussia M’gladbach. Wolsfburg claimed a 3-0 win against Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund slipped once again losing 1-0 to Hannover 96. Jurgen Klopp's men sits just a point ahead of the relegation zone.

Bayern Munich in the top spot followed by Hoffenheim, Borussia M’gladbach and Wolfsburg who all are at equal points but are separated by goal difference.

Serie A:

After the hammering by Bayern Munich, the fans expected Roma to develop some momentum but they failed to do so and settled for a 0-0 draw against Sampdoria. Juventus utilized their slip well with a 2-0 win against Palermo and are moving fast in the title race. Now just two horses are racing for the crown of Italy.

Juventus tops the table with 22 points from a possible 24 followed by Roma with 19 points. Udinese and Sampdoria placed 3rd and 4th who are differentiated by goal difference.

Ligue 1:

Finally Paris Saint-Germain found their lost form and are starting to win. The capital club dispatched Bordeaux by 3-0 with ease. Saint Etienne managed a narrow 1-0 win to keep them in contention for the Champions League spot. Marseille lost against Olympique Lyon but are still in the top of the table with a comfortable five points lead over the chasing PSG.

Saint Etienne, placed third are followed by Bordeaux who are in turn facing a tough competition from Olympique Lyon for the Champions League spot.

That's all for this week, with more entertaining and thrilling games in line, we are going to be busy in updating you the statuses. Of course we do that with immense pleasure. Stay tuned for more.
