Science-fiction is not something completely new to Tamil cinema, with some attempts then and there, but it is relatively fresh, one has to say. And when the attention-garnering theme combines with Thirukumaran Entertainments, the expectations do go high.
Fortunately and pleasantly, debutant director R. Ravi Kumar comes up with a plot that justifies everything.
Storyline
Two friends get their hands on a time machine that arrives from future. They try to make money and while doing so unknowingly commits a mistake that impacts their life upside down.
Cast & Crew
Full marks to director R. Ravi Kumar for delivering a script that is completely fresh to Tamil cinema. At times when even the leading directors were left red-faced with several issues on the originality of the screenplay, the way the director credits the story discussion team is genuine at the start. There is hardly any logical errors, pleasing scenes, and more than enough entertaining portions.
Another good film to add to Vishnu's CV and this might even launch Miya George into stardom. With cute looks and a charming character, she is gorgeous on screen.
There are not many moments that can make a director more elated than to film a gripping, convincing, successful story, more importantly the climax and see his name being cheered on the big screen. Congratulations R. Ravi Kumar, you've made it.
The VFX was not unnecessarily handed despite it being a sci-fi and good whenever used. Leo John Paul's Editing is top class, not one frame seemed out of place and same applies to A. Vasanth's cinematography. The score by Hip-hop Tamizha goes by the demand and is neat. Overall a neat work by the technical team.
Karunakaran scores with his one-liners and expressions. Vishnu is slowly becoming a reliable face in the industry and at the box office. The interval block gives a hint of what is going to unveil in the later half, gives enough indications to people of science and is fairly simple to take the theme to the general audience. Hence, the movie is not just for the modern youth.
This might not be that classical science fiction stuff, but a complete film as mentioned above. Success No.9 for producer CV Kumar.
Bottomline
Must watch for all age groups. The good times are here.
Marks - 8.5/10
