Pilots to get rewards if they make cockpit announcements in Hindi

Most of the pilots of the domestic Air India planes use English to make their cockpit announcements. When Narendra Modi led NDA government took the power, they instructed to use Hindi for all the official works. Now the organisation plans to reward pilots who use Hindi for the same.

10 months before the government issued a circular on the use of official language in various public departments.

"They should do so in Hindi as well, as it is our national language. We will encourage them to use Hindi in the cockpit while making onboard announcements," the NDTV quotes Air India sources as saying.

The decision was made at a recent meeting of the civil aviation ministry and the airline management.

"Air India is one of the oldest organisations promoting Hindi in the country. So, the latest orders are nothing but a reiteration of the same," the sources said,

India has over 300 languages and the move to thrust the use of Hindi in all the states seems to be an indirect ploy to restrict the use of regional languages and to kill their development, a bunch of activities concern and oppose.
