20 Tamil wood cutters were gunned by Andhra Pradesh police for allegedly smuggling Red Sanders from the AP regional forests.
The issue went viral after social activists, politicians, media have urged for a credible enquiry. The officials of Tamil Nadu doubts that the encounter was as execution, motivated to murder the people involved. It has created a sense of anger between the states.
Following the doubts, the border of the two states is suffering from violent conducts. Masked and unidentified group of people are trying to cause panic in the border and police of both states are doing the best to control the situation.
A day before yesterday, around 7 PM, a bus belong to AP was attacked in the Podi region by a gang of 6 masked people who threw petrol packs into the bus and tried to light up. Fortunately, the local villagers rushed in and the protesters ran away.
Gummidipoondi, Thatchur and other villages along the TN-AP border also suffered violent protests and a woman was injured in the Thatchur region after the gang threw stones on the bus.
All public bus transport between AP and TN were stopped as a precaution. The two states' police forces are patrolling the roads between AP's Sullurpet and TN's Sengundram, searching every vehicle.
