Indian star batsman Virat Kohli is currently training in Mumbai under the guidance of 'master blaster' Sachin Tendulkar and is keen to correct the loopholes in batting after a horrendous England tour.
"Virat was here for an intense session today. Sachin was present too. He is going to come in for practice over the next two-three days as well," the Hindustan Times quoted Lalchand Rajput, the batting coach of the indoor training center at Bandra-Kurla Complex as saying.
In England, Kohli was continuously troubled by the deliveries in the corridor of uncertainty and was found wanting against the swing of James Anderson. Hence, Mumbai U-23 bowlers were asked to operate on an off-stump line prescribed by Rajput at the fastest surface available.
After experiencing the worst phase of his carrer till date in England, averaging just 13.40 in the Tests and 18.00 in the ODIs, Kohli's intentions are clear that he wants to back among runs very soon.
The report further informs that the highest run-scorer in international matches was constantly having a word with the 25-year-old on his batting, as he observed Kohli from different positions during the two-hour session, right from his stance to feet movements.
“Since Virat had time, he felt he could come and just stay in touch. He worked on his off-stump game. We will have a better idea about how his form is in a couple of days, though international players don’t take time,” Rajput added
It is learnt that Yuvraj Singh was also present at the academy to fine tune his game against spinners. Notably, Suresh Raina also trained at the venue before he joined the Indian ODI side in England.
