A low-intensity blast occurred in Kolkata local train and injured 18 passengers in a coach, reports NDTV.
The bomb was imploded allegedly by a co-passenger after an argument between two suspected criminals, the report informs. Sealdah-Krishnanagar local train had just crossed the Titagarh station around 3.55 am on Tuesday morning when the incident took place. However, other sources say the train was about to enter Barrackpore station when the blast happened.
"I heard someone arguing loudly and talking about taking out a knife," said one passenger who was injured. "I could not see their faces," he added.
Senior police officer Niraj Sing said: "A group of people got on the train at Titagarh. There was an argument and then a bomb exploded. We are investigating what happened."
Raju or Raju Das, as identified by policemen, with criminal records in Titagarh station was reportedly carrying the bomb and is among the 18 injured.
