With the focus mainly on IPL, here is what happened in the international arena over the last few days.

Bangladesh beat Pakistan


Bangladesh came out victorious against Pakistan in the first ODI of the 3-match series by 79 runs. 

Centuries from opener Tamim Iqbal (132) and Mushfiqur Rahim (106) helped the home side post 329/6 by the end of 50 overs. Wahab Riaz captured 4/59.

In reply, Pakistan started sensibly but failed to kick on. Despite a couple of half-centuries in the middle order, the visitors could only muster 250 before folding in the 46th over. Opening the batting and on captaincy debut, Azhar Ali top scored with 72. Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny pocketed three wickets each.

Anderson's landmark


The swing bowler became England's leading wicket taker surpassing the great Ian Botham in his landmark 100th Test. Anderson now has 384 scalps at an average of 29.77 including 16 five-wicket hauls. 

West Indies hold England

A spirited partnership involving Denesh Ramdin and Jason Holder on the final day helped the Caribbean outfit take even honors in the first Test against England at Antigua. In the end, the Windies had batted for 129.4 overs, scoring 350 when the stumps were drawn.
