The English league has the all ingredients for a player to
grow and to earn as well. It will not be an exaggeration if we conclude that every
player wants to play in the Premier League once in his career. We bring you the
list of stars who are expected to make their way
to England and be a part of the history in the world’s most competitive league.
1. Edinson Cavani – PSG
The Uruguayan forward is reported to be unsettled at the French
capital due to the role he was awarded: as a left winger rather than a
spearhead in front. Since his arrival to the Parc Des Princes, he is only able
to play second fiddle to the Swedish veteran Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who always produces
spectacular performances.
Though the player himself is denying the rumors, his agent
Claudio Anellucci is seriously in talks with various English clubs namely Chelsea,
Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United over a potential transfer with Chelsea
being the player’s first preference.
2. Karim Benzema – Real Madrid
The immensely talented striker has not earned the faith of
Real Madrid authority since his arrival from Lyon in 2009. The potential and ability
of the striker is hailed by many, but he is yet to prove that hype in the
famous white shirts. Honestly, he has not lived up to his expectations till
now.
Real Madrid offered him a new improved contract few months back
after current coach Carlo Ancelotti made him his first choice. But the late
transfer of Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez has raised questions about the French
man’s future. And recently, Ancelotti hinted that he may prefer Chicharito over
Benzema.
Arsene Wenger is a long-time admirer of his fellow country man and is
keen to bring him to the Emirates at any time, but has to face stiff
competition from the French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
3. Sami Khedira – Real Madrid
The veteran midfielder who is at the last year of his
contract with Real Madrid played a key role with the world cup winning German
side and have been targeted by almost all the top 5 English clubs. But, none
could sign the player due to his high wage demands.
That hasn’t derailed the PL clubs who are still chasing him and
it is rumored that Arsenal have agreed a verbal €14m deal for the player and
the official confirmations will be announced in January.
4. Marco Reus – Borussia Dortmund
The prolific attacker for both Borussia Dortmund and Germany missed the entire WC through injury. Still, that hasn’t done any harm to
his value and the interest on him.
Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal are all very keen to add the player to improve their standards. But, BVB somehow
managed to keep the player with them, but not expected to stay for long as the player
rejected an extended contract.
So, it is possible that we could see the player
in a PL club in the near future only if Bayern Munich and Real Madrid decide to stand back.
5. Mats Hummels – Borussia Dortmund
The giant defender almost signed for Manchester United this
summer, but his manager Jorgen Klopp somehow convinced him to stay put and
refused further offers. With Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool all ready to splash cash on him, it is going to be a tough job for BVB to
retain their star defender.
6. Paul Pogba – Juventus
The impressive young French man is just 21, but the quality
he got has already made him one of the best defensive midfielders on earth. Henceforth,
it is no surprise that a number of big teams are chasing him like sharks to
lure him from The Old Lady.
The youngster stalled the new contract extension he was offered
and the situation is still uncertain that whether he will remain with the
Bianconeri or not.
7. Fransisco Roman Alarcon Suarez – Real Madrid
Don’t baffle, it is only Isco. The accurate Spaniard is
struggling for chances with the Spanish giants Real Madrid and was largely expected
to leave the club this summer to accumulate the WC superstar James Rodriguez before
the Argentine Di’Maria made his way out.
I can’t say whether it is lucky or unlucky, Isco was denied
a move but the Argentine was sold to Manchester United. Liverpool and Arsenal
remain interested, but coach Ancelotti is adamant that he will not sell the
playmaker and will keep him happy by giving him more chances.
