Following the voice call feature, WhatsApp is lining up its next upgrade that will enable users to use the video calling facility, reports suggest.

Starting out as a mere messaging platform the application has been gaining major additions since Facebook took over.

It is learnt that all WhatsApp employees are testing out the trial version of the facility since the last two months and it will be officially launched in May.

Similar to voice calling, the service will be available to selected Android users and others can get it once you get an invite.

With this update, WhatsApp might well challenge Facebook to be the platform with most active users. It can be noted that they currently have 800 million monthly active users, next only to the social media giants Facebook who are with 1 billion monthly active users.
