The English Premier League is the most competitive, the most entertaining, the most energetic, the most money producing league in the world. The words are not over reacting. The English league deserves it. One thing you have to notice is WINNING this prestigious title is the most hardest in the football world. And, as usual there must be some favorites to win the famous crown. Let’s see who those favorites are this season.
1. CHELSEA
You can’t simply neglect Jose Mourinho’s side from the list. After their strong performance in the first four games they simply made it that they are the clear favorites to win the CROWN this time. Mourinho has used Abrahimovic money wonderfully to build a squad of his own style.
The new big additions - Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas have been in devastating form with Costa topping the scorers list with 7 goals already and Fabregas has an impressive 4 assists till date. The only thing the BLUE LIONS have to do is to maintain this form till the end to emerge victorious.
2. MANCHESTER CITY
Though City had a tough summer transfer due to their Financial Fair Play [FFP] restrictions, it must be wrong to consider they are not a title contenders. The defending champions have not lost even a single key player though it is rumored that their midfield power house Yaya Toure was angling for a move. Subsequently, they have strengthened their defense with a center back in Eliaquim Mangala.
With Matija Nastasic and Martin Demichelis struggling to live up to the requirements, Mangala could well be a good partner for their captain Vincent Kompany. With quality midfield talents such as Toure, Fernandinho, Samir Nasri, David Silva and Jesus Navas coupled with a world class strike force of Sergio Aquero, Stevan Jovetic and Edin Dzeko they might very well end up defending their crown.
3. ARSENAL
The Gunners! Arsene Wenger is hunting the championship for a decade and he came closer the last season, but a few bad performances hijacked their dream with Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea finishing in the top 3.
The new additions especially Alexis Sanchez is giving them more hope in their title hunt and they look more threatening than the last few seasons. If the new sensational signings can fulfill the expectations then surely Wenger is going to lay his hands on the most awaited title this time around.
4. LIVERPOOL
Captain Steven Gerrard’s dream almost came true last season only to see himself slip against Chelsea which cost them dearly. That slip let Chelsea thrash their title ambitions as it allowed Demba Ba to go for the kill. Also, a loss against the fellow title contenders Manchester City forced them to settle only for the second place behind the eventual champions.
The duo of Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling hold the key for Liverpool and the team is good enough to compete for the title.
Even after losing their talisman Luis Suarez to Barcelona, Liverpool are still stronger since they have invested all the money from the big sale to build their squad. The new summer signing Mario Balotelli is expected to fill in Luis Suarez's boots.
5. MANCHESTER UNITED
It’s really strange to consider THE RED DEVILS in this list behind all the others. You can say this because they are the No.1 contenders for the title in the last two decades. Sir Alex Ferguson's legacy is a history now and the others who are chosen to replace the legend are struggling to match his greatness, which is not surprising.
Louis van Gaal is keeping all his hope in the star studded attack of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Juan Mata along with the big summer signings in Angel Di Maria, Radamel Falcao and Ander Herrera. Still, considering their last season struggles and the win-less first three matches of the new season, it will be a miracle if they can settle in for a Champions League spot.
We can only predict, but, you can’t place a bet on the future since it can bring you anything and can surprise you anytime. So keep focused and be ready for an amazing battle for the most respected crown in the whole Europe.
